Adsum in Situ

Mixed Media (Glas, fresnel light, Electrochromic films, controller, computer) 700x100x100 cm We deal with memories that surface so quickly that you almost miss them. Fractions of a second that feel like a punch in the gut; or like a hug. For example, a narrow strip of light sliding across concrete, and suddenly you’re back in another summer. Or a perfume in a crowd, and immediately the past is sitting next to you, closer than anyone else at that moment. These are fleeting milliseconds that are powerful enough to tear open entire rooms of memory. Our  works reveal and conceal at the same time; everything blurs, everything sharpens. That’s how memory works: first foggy, then razor sharp.. A brief moment that immediately slips away again. And yet it doesn’t just remain in the mind,  it remains in the body. As a shiver, as warmth, and as a question. The work was shown for the first time last year at Art Basel and is now coming to Berlin.
